Flowbots — Privacy Policy

Flowbots is a writing tool for automotive salespeople. This policy covers the
Flowbots Chrome extension and the Flowbots service behind it
(api.flowbotsauto.com).
The short version
Flowbots writes sales messages from text you give it. It does not read the
pages you browse, and it does not keep the customer messages you paste into it.
What the extension can see
The extension has no access to the pages you visit. It contains no content
scripts and requests no permission over any website. It cannot read your CRM,
your inbox, or any other page, and this is a deliberate design choice rather
than a limitation.
It receives text in exactly two ways, both of which you start:
1. Text you highlight and then send using the right-click menu.
2. Text you type or paste into the Flowbots side panel yourself.
What we send, and where
When you ask Flowbots for a reply, the text you supplied is sent over an
encrypted connection to the Flowbots service, and from there to a large
language model provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) that generates the response. The
response comes back to your side panel. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
Nothing is ever sent automatically. Flowbots writes a draft, you read it, and
you decide whether to use it. The extension never sends a message on your
behalf and has no ability to do so.
What we keep
We do not retain the customer message content you submit. It is used to
generate your response and is not written to any log, file, or database we
hold. This is enforced in the code by an allowlist that permits only
non-content fields to be recorded, and it is verified by an automated check on
every change we make.
What we do keep:
Your work email address, to identify you and the dealership you work for. This
is how we know you are entitled to use the product.
Counts and timings: how many requests were made, which Flowbots tool was used,
how long it took, and whether it succeeded. Numbers and labels only — no
message text.
Outcome reports, where your dealership's systems send them: our own reference
number for a message, plus a status from a fixed list such as "replied" or
"appointment set". These contain no customer identity and no message content.
The extension uses no cookies and no tracking pixels, and contains no
analytics software.
Signing in
You sign in either with your dealership's Google account or with your
dealership email address and your store's code. There is no Flowbots password.
If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and whether Google
has verified it. We request only the basic sign-in scopes (openid, email,
profile) and cannot read your Gmail, Drive, calendar, or contacts.
Your session is stored locally in your own browser so you are not asked to
sign in every day. Signing out removes it.
The text you most recently highlighted is also held in your own browser, so the
side panel can show it to you. It stays on your machine, it is replaced by the
next thing you highlight, and "New customer / Clean Slate" clears it.
Who else sees your data
Anthropic and OpenAI, as the providers that generate responses, receive the
text you submit. They do not use it to train their models.
Your dealership, which can ask us how much its team uses Flowbots, as part of
managing its own subscription.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers,
or anyone assessing credit. We do not use it for any purpose unrelated to
generating the responses you asked for.
Your choices
Uninstalling the extension ends its access immediately.
Your dealership can remove your account at any time, which takes effect on
your next request.
To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email
info@flowbotsauto.com. Because we do not retain message content, this is a
short list: your work email, your dealership, and your usage counts.
Children
Flowbots is a workplace tool for dealership staff and is not directed at
anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
